Recycling Electrical Panels, Fluorescent Bulbs & Batteries

Today is Earth Day, and at The Shock Doctors we protect the environment not only today, but everyday by recycling Electrical Panels, Fluorescent Bulbs & Batteries. This protects the environment by keeping our project waste out of the landfill.

Recycling Electrical Panels, Fluorescent Bulbs & Batteries

At The Shock Doctors we ensure that project waste is disposed of properly and that it is diverted from the landfill.

It is important for us to ensure we are recycling Electrical Panels, Fluorescent Bulbs & Batteries when we leave your home.

When we update your old Electrical Panel to a new Electrical Panel we recycle the old metal and parts by dropping them off at a local scrap metal recycler. We ensure that it is recycled properly and that no part of it is taken to the landfill.

Fluorescent Bulb Disposal

When we dispose of Fluorescent bulbs we wrap them together with electrical tape and take them to the hazardous waste depot. Taping them together gives the bundle strength and lowers the chances of breakage. The Town of Barrie and The Town of Orillia both provide information on their websites on a complete list of hazardous materials and how to dispose of them properly.

Recycling Electric Panels, Fluorescent Bulbs & Batteries

Throughout the year we annually visit our Doc’s Club Members and change the batteries in their smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Every day our Electricians return back to the shop with a variety of batteries. We collect these in a large plastic bucket and dispose of them annually when the Town does their annual pick-up.

If you have batteries or household waste that you need to dispose of; you can find disposal information for your area on the town website.

If you have other household products that require special handling like antifreeze or coolant, and don’t know where to dispose of them check out Orange Drop. It is a website that will advise you of your closest drop off site for household hazardous waste free of charge.
