Why Do I Need a Grounding Plate?
Grounding Plate
Why you need to install a grounding plate with a new Electrical Panel Installation?
The voltage has to be drained away to ground safely so it dissipates into the ground. If you don’t have one of these grounding plates, there is a potential that electricity will seek another path to ground.
A Grounding Plate is required to be buried 24 inches below the grade and there is a wire that attaches to the bronze connection and goes into the panel. It’s protected by location because it is buried.
If there was ever a fault in the house it will go through the cord and wire and into the ground safely.
